There, they met the wizard Guruclef and a strange creature he called Mokona. Guruclef explained that Princess Emeraude, the ruler of their world, was kidnapped by her evil high priest Zagato. He went on to say that they were summoned by the princess to save her and Cephiro, because without her as the pillar of the world.
