To the majority of people, Hange appeared to be a vivacious, freethinking researcher with a distinct manner of conducting themselves and their work, owing to their attentive and objective demeanor. Hange recalls that when they originally joined the Survey Corps, their hearts were filled with anger until they kicked the head of a 3 meter Titan and were taken aback by how light it was. Hange was compelled to let go of most of their wrath and uneasiness, and adopt a new attitude to Titan’s research as a result. Hange also had a lot of compassion for the Titan test subjects, crying when they had to put Bean through a lot of suffering for an experiment, and having a complete meltdown when the Titans were executed.
