The majority of anime is undoubtedly a cat person. You occasionally see a dog, for sure. However, cats just rule the genre. After being saved by Kusuo, he begins to visit his home in an attempt to win Kusuo’s affection. He once got Kusuo, who was disguised as a cat named Psi, to help him woo a female cat named Pushi. Molly (The Ancient Magus’ Bride)
Marielle is a motherly woman with an immature streak at times. She will do whatever she can to help those she loves or sympathizes with, even if it is considered immoral. She used to work and live in the temples of the old gods, channeling divine power into men through her body. Her job at the time was to bear more children for the community. Sorata (Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi)
Sorata’s first family is unknown, but he was abandoned near an alleyway that quickly turned into a watered-down box. After hearing its cries, Takano was the only one willing to take it to safety and take him into his house. Sorata is later seen as an old fully grown cat in the care of Yokozawa ten years later. Due to Yokozawa’s intense working career, which took away time to care for Sorata like before, he soon goes into the care of Hiyori, Kirishima’s daughter who had desperately wanted a cat of her own. Jiji (Kiki’s Delivery Service)
Jiji is a chatty and sarcastic cat who likes to act proud in the American version, whereas in the Japanese version, Jiji is cautious and humble, and is always willing to help Kiki. In the American dub, Jiji has a very different personality. Jiji is voiced by female performer Rei Sakuma in the Japanese version, while Phil Hartman performs Jiji in the American version, and has a more wisecracking demeanor. Cats are typically depicted with feminine voices in Japanese culture, whereas their voices are more gender-specific in American culture. In the original, Jiji says nothing in several of Hartman’s lines (such as in the scene where Jiji approaches Lily along the top of the wall).
Korin (Dragon Ball Z)
Korin may appear to be a strict teacher, but he is a very nice person. Goku changed his mind about stealing the holy water when he went to get it while Korin was sleeping. Korin decided to train Goku to his full potential after being impressed by his honesty and decency. He enjoys playing tricks, as Kami has observed. Blair (Soul Eater)
Blair is usually very nice, good at understanding other people, and shows compassion to those in distress. Maya (Azumanga Daioh)
Maya is known for scaring away the neighborhood cats and shielding Sakaki from Kamineko. He was physically weakened after he attacked said cat when he had just found Sakaki after traveling from Iriomote Island, most likely due to exhaustion from the long journey. He was taken to Dr. Ishihara, who was suspicious due to Maya’s obvious resemblance to an Iriomote Cat (which should not be kept as a pet), but Sakaki and Chiyo persuaded him that Maya was a crossbreed and they were thus allowed to take him home. Sakaki chose the name Maya for her new pet. Despite being a wildcat, Maya is at ease around people, including Tadakichi-san. Sakaki is also allowed to bathe him.
Kuro (Ao no Exorcist)
He can transform from a small cat into a Nekomata, a giant demon cat with immense strength and power, as well as demon telepathy, which allows him to communicate mentally with other demons, including Rin. Kuro was the guardian deity of some local silk farmers in ancient times until he was forgotten by people and went berserk, but Fujimoto tamed him and made him familiar. Chomusuke has been absorbing more of Wolbach’s personality traits since she absorbed her. Chomusuke, for example, has begun refusing to eat “pet food” such as leftovers or raw fish, preferring “human food” such as biscuits.
