You Satou the main protagonist has to polish his skills to the finest to get his hands on the discounted meals else starving it is. 2. Gourmet Girl Graffiti
This one revolves around a school-going girl whose grandmother teaches her old-school thoughts; for Ryou to find herself a husband, she must know how to cook delicious food. Oh well- that one goes down the drain and Ryou’s food tastes bad. When she goes to live at her cousin’s for a weekend she cooks moreover it does not taste bad, it turns out good. Ryou learns it’s the sentiment of sharing that brings the taste. This anime is similar to Food Wars.
3. Restaurant to Another World
The name alone says it all, Youshoku no Nekoya is 50 years old restaurant. It is one of the most busiest and popular dine-in in town! Youshoku no Nekoya runs 7 days a week. It is closed to the normal public on Saturdays. This anime is similar to Food Wars.
4. Toriko
The setting would get you all food lovers drooling over the set. Everything is made of food. Toriko embarks on his journey to mix and match ingredients to become the best chef. Battles break out in between and spice up the already thrilling anime more. This anime is similar to Food Wars.
5. Yumeiro Patissiere
Similar to Food Wars and not erotic. Ichigo is your everyday kid enjoying life and eating cakes, she thinks of herself with no talents in the chef department. She meets Henri Lucas, a famous patisserie and he finds her hidden talent. This anime is similar to Food Wars.
6. Yakitate!! Japan
Kazuma who has always been a huge fan of traditional Japanese cuisine slowly delves into the bread world. Shortly after a professional bread maker discovers Kazuma has the “Hands of the Sun” which means they are perfect to make bread- the warmth. Kazuma packs up and moves to Tokyo, where he works for the best bakery. He faces rivalry to maintain his place on the top! This anime is similar to Food Wars.
7. Sweetness and Lightning
Not your typical battle and competitive anime more of a realistic approach. Tsumugi is raised by her single father. With no experience in the culinary world and a daughter who loves eating delicious food. Inuzuka learns how to cook and raises her daughter while putting in his all! This anime is similar to Food Wars.
8. Dagashi Kashi
Kokonotsu, is the son of a Japanese family who has successfully run a candy business for nine generations and him in line to take over next. Kokonotsu has no interest in taking over, instead has a passion for manga. Hotaru, who wants Kokonotsu’s father to work for a candy manufacturer tells her he’ll only agree if she can convince Kokonotsu to take over the Shikada business. This anime is similar to Food Wars.
9. Cooking Master Boy
The son of Pai is called the “Fairy of Cuisines”. Pai passes away and Mao takes over as head chef at her restaurant. To reach the level of her beloved mother, he travels around China to learn the diversity of cuisines. While traveling he faces allies and foes. The show features mouth-watering food imagery just like Food Wars!
10. Silver Spoon
Yuugo Hachiken just like any other student is done with over-pressuring academic life. He switches to Ooezo Agricultural High School for a change. He faces different challenges there. The show revolves mostly around ingredient making more than cooking however it still has a fair amount of cooking scenes. It is an interesting and informative anime series.
