In any shonen series, having a strong power system has virtually become a need. Chakra from Naruto, Nen from Hunter x Hunter, and quirks from My Hero Academia are a few fan favourites when it comes to power systems. There aren’t many that have the same kind of character and zaniness as the Devil Fruits from One Piece, even if many of these are the product of rigorous preparation to provide intricate yet real conflicts. Devil Fruits are magical fruits that, in exchange for the inability to swim, give their eaters special abilities including the capacity to control gravity, return from the dead, or transform into mochi. But not all Devil Fruits are created equal, and some have a certain advantage over others in terms of fighting skills.
Tremor Tremor Fruit (Gura Gura no Mi)
The Gura Gura no Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows the user to produce vibrations or “quakes,” transforming the user into a Tremor Human. It was eaten by Edward Newgate, but after his death, Marshall D. Teach stole its power. This fruit is feared to be capable of destroying the world, and it is regarded as the strongest Devil Fruit within the Paramecia class, with powers no weaker than those of a Logia Devil Fruit.
Glint Glint Fruit (Pika Pika no Mi)
The Pika Pika no Mi is a Logia-type Devil Fruit that gives the user the ability to create, control and transform into light at will, transforming the user into a Light Human. It allows the user to travel at the speed of light and transport themselves via reflection. Borsalino, also known as Admiral Kizaru, ate it.
Ice Ice Fruit (Hie Hie no Mi)
This fruit, as a Logia, gives its user the ability to transform into the element of ice, as well as create and control it on a potentially massive scale, particularly to freeze their surroundings. Even by Logia standards, this power was powerful enough to permanently warp the climate of one-half of an island into a frozen, uninhabitable wasteland throughout a ten-day battle. Ice is a superior freezing agent to snow, so the Hie Hie no Mi’s power is considered superior to the Yuki Yuki no Mi’s.
Mag Mag Fruit (Magu Magu no Mi)
Physical attacks, such as punches and slashes, can pass through the user harmlessly as a Logia unless they are imbued with Busoshoku Haki. Because of the fruit’s natural element, attempting to strike the user with one’s own body would result in serious injury or burning. Weapons, such as swords, have also been shown to melt when in contact with Akainu.
Dark Fruit (Yami Yami no Mi)
The first and most important strength, as demonstrated by Blackbeard, is the ability to control darkness and its unique property of gravity. A black smoke-like substance spreading out from the user’s body visually represents the darkness. Everything is devoured and crushed by the darkness. As a result, the user can absorb physical matter and attacks of all kinds by sucking them into the darkness. This ability can also be used to irresistibly draw the opponent to them, regardless of their current state.
OP OP Fruit (Ope Ope no Mi)
The Ope Ope no Mi (Op-Op Fruit) is an unreleased Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that enables its eater to create a spherical space or “room” in which the eater has complete control over the placement and orientation of all objects (and people) within, transforming them into a Free Modification Human. The Ope Ope no Mi is not yet in the game, but from official footage, it appears to be nearly finished. However, the developer Benere has stated that it will not be available for some time.
Plot Plot Fruit (Plot Plot no Mi)
Oda Oda no Mi is a Devil Fruit that exists in its class and cannot be classified. Even the info box on this page can’t figure out what kind of fruit this is, so it just puts all categories in there for fun! It gives the user complete control over the universe in which the manga and anime “One Piece” takes place!
Rumble Rumble Fruit (Goro Goro no Mi)
This Logia can transform into lightning: to generate, control, and transform into electricity. The user can discharge varying amounts of electricity from their body to manipulate as they please, including regulating its voltage: the maximum output is 200 million volts (roughly in the range of natural lightning). Even for a Logia, this ability appears to be exceptionally powerful, given the inherent destructiveness of lightning, with Nico Robin stating that the Goro Goro no Mi’s power is one of the few that boasts invincibility among the many existing Devil Fruits.
Soul Soul Fruit (Soru Soru no Mi)
Big Mom demonstrated the fruit’s power of soul manipulation by manifesting and drawing out the souls of people who feel fear. The manifested souls appear as a light-pink, spectral-looking but tangible substance that leaks from the victim’s body like smoke. The user can extract the victim’s soul by grabbing it and pulling it out once it has surrounded the target’s body. This effectively steals from the victim’s very lifespan, the amount of which is determined by the user: it is possible to steal decades of a person’s life at once if the user so desires, or mere seconds if the user so desires. The user can steal a portion of the victim’s lifespan, reducing their remaining lifespan, or even take enough years.
Thud Thud Fruit (Zushi Zushi no Mi)
Whoever consumes this fruit gains the ability to generate extremely powerful gravitational forces. The ability user can move living things and objects with little effort, from debris to send flying against an enemy in small or large numbers, to a massive battleship. The generable gravity field appears to have an enormous range, as it can pull meteors from the highest of skies. With the ability to have their gravity go in any direction, including horizontal, as demonstrated by Fujitora, the user can move around matter with precision, effectively granting telekinesis. Flight can be simulated by negating natural gravity and forcing things upward to navigate in midair, as demonstrated by Fujitora.
Love Love Fruit (Mero Mero no Mi)
According to Boa Hancock, the fruit’s main strength is that the user can turn those who lust or love after the user into stone to varying degrees by using their “dirty thoughts.” Victims who have completely turned to stone are unconscious and vulnerable to physical harm unless the user de-petrifies them. Petrification can also be achieved by physically striking an opponent, though only the contacted area is turned to stone rather than the entire body. Nonliving objects, including Pacifistas, are also affected by the power.
Sand Sand Fruit (Suna Suna no Mi)
The Suna Suna no Mi is a Logia-type Devil Fruit that allows the user to freely create, control, and transform into the sand, transforming the user into a Sand Human. It was devoured by Mr. 0, the former Warlord of the Sea Crocodile, also known by his Baroque Works alias. Its abilities were first demonstrated, but not fully explained, during the call between Crocodile and Sanji in Little Garden, when it was used to dry up a flower in a glass. The power of this fruit was finally demonstrated in a battle between Crocodile and Puppu’s crew and named when he used it to avoid Nefertari Vivi’s attack.
Venom Venom Fruit (Doku Doku no Mi)
This Devil Fruit ability allows the user to create and control a wide variety of poisons ranging in strength and form, from a mild irritant to a powerful paralyzing agent to a lethal and highly corrosive toxin. These poisons can be produced by the user in both liquid and gaseous forms. The user also becomes completely immune to all poisons, whether they are internal or external. The user can generate massive amounts of liquid poison and shape it into a massive monstrous entity, such as a hydra or a demon. Poison in large quantities can also be used as a mode of transportation, allowing the user to travel through it like a pneumatic tube.
Gas Gas Fruit (Gasu Gasu no Mi)
The ability to change into a gas-like form, allowing the user to float, fly, and go inside places that normal beings cannot, as Caesar Clown was seen hiding inside some flasks when he was informed that the Marines were nearby, is the Devil Fruit’s main strength. He can, however, become dense enough to hold objects, such as his cocktail glass. According to Brownbeard, he claimed to be the one who cleansed the entire island of poisonous and nerve gases. This, however, is revealed to be a ruse, with the poisonous gases used to give birth to Smiley. The gas Caesar emits is extremely poisonous. When set alight, the gas appears to be explosive, allowing Caesar to create controlled explosions.
Kaido’s Devil Fruit
This fruit transforms the user into a giant, serpentine, blue-scaled dragon—specifically, an Eastern dragon known as the “Azure Dragon”—as well as a human-dragon hybrid. Aside from scales, acquired dragon characteristics include horns, sharp fangs, and clawed hands and feet. Kaidou grows to the size of a small town in his full Beast Form, making this the largest Zoan transformation yet seen. His Human-Beast Form, while not as massive, is still very large and resembles his Human Form in shape, with scales on his arms, outer torso, back, and legs, as well as six horns on his head, claws on his hands, and feet, and a long tail.
Bird Bird Fruit: Model Phoenix (Tori Tori no Mi: Moderu Fenikkusu)
This Devil Fruit allows you to transform into a large phoenix shrouded in blue flames at will, as well as a human-phoenix hybrid. Notably, no full-bodied Human-Beast Form has been seen thus far through Marco’s usage, only partial morphing of his arms and legs into wings and bird legs, respectively; whether said partial transformation is indeed his Human-Beast Form or not is unknown. As with all Zoans, the user’s transformation significantly improves their overall physical abilities, bestowing strength sufficient to hold back two powerful Ancient Zoan users at the same time. The user gains the ability to fly at high speeds as a bird Zoan.
Shadow Shadow Fruit (Kage Kage no Mi)
The Kage Kage no Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows the user to manifest and control the shadows of living creatures, including their own, as physical and tangible forms. As a Ruler of Shadows, the user can steal other beings’ shadows and insert them into different bodies, living or dead, allowing the creation of zombies. Gecko Moria, a former member of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, ate it. The fruit’s powers were first noticed by Brook when he met the Straw Hats.
Horm Horm Fruit (Horu Horu no Mi)
According to Ivankov, the main strength of the fruit is that the user can create special hormones that can quickly and drastically alter the body of any person they are injected into in any way the user desires, effectively allowing the user to “remodel a human from the inside out” on a genetic level. The user can also transform their fingers into syringes, which they can use to inject hormones into a target’s body, including their own if desired. These hormones can be used to freely alter any of the target’s physical characteristics, including gender, body temperature, skin pigmentation, growth, stamina, and even emotional state, among many other things.
Barrier Barrier Fruit (Bari Bari no Mi)
The Barrier-Barrier Fruit, or Bari Bari no Mi, is a Paramecia type fruit that allows the user to conjure green barriers that can be used for both defense and offense. This fruit is used by Bartolomeo, the Captain of the Straw Hat grand fleet, in the anime. The fruit can be obtained by searching for it, purchasing it from the Black Market, or purchasing it from Gacha. It costs $1,350,000 and 1 gem, making it a reasonably priced fruit.
Jewelry Bonney’s Devil Fruit
Bonney consumed an unnamed Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows her to manipulate the aging process, allowing her to freely age herself and others. She can use this power to disguise herself and cripple opponents by rapidly aging them into their senior years or regressing them into small, weak children. Because of this ability, determining her true age is difficult. Any target whose bodily age has been altered by this power retains all of their memories and cognitive abilities, as demonstrated by the Marines and Bonney herself acting normally, regardless of their body’s age.
