Big Fish & Begonia
A girl named Chun participates in a coming-of-age ritual in a mystical realm beneath the human world populated by magical-powered beings, where she is transported through a water portal to experience the human world in the form of a red dolphin. There, she meets a human boy who lives near the sea and worships aquatic creatures. Chun becomes entangled in a fishing net near the boy’s house during a storm, and the boy drowns while attempting to free her. Chun returns to her world, carrying the boy’s ocarina.
The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya
The world has returned to normal, but Kyon has been in a coma since December 18, when he fell down the stairs. Yuki informs Kyon that the Data Integration Thought Entity is considering decommissioning her because the accumulation of errors is unavoidable and will almost certainly lead to more destructive behavior. Kyon tells her that if they ever try something like this, he can tell Haruhi that he is John Smith and have her alter reality so that aliens no longer exist. As of December 24 approaches, Kyon postpones his trip back in time to save himself from Asakura and instead attends the Christmas party.

Harumi and her mother Keiko had been living in another city. Keiko is an independent modern woman who had chosen her husband who ran a watch shop. Keiko had met her husband in his shop when she went to get a watch. He died young leaving Keiko, Harumi, and a son behind. Keiko’s husband’s family took over the family’s watch business and Keiko left her husband’s home leaving her son, the legal heir of her husband, behind.
A Silent Voice
Shoya, who was an outcast throughout middle school due to his reputation as a bully, is now a depressed loner who is unable to look others in the eyes and imagines an “X” mark over people’s faces. Shoya goes to the sign language center to return Shoko’s notebook and apologize, but then panics and asks to be friends instead. Shoko accepts his offer, prompting Shoya to try to make amends for his bullying Shoko. Another outcast, Tomohiro Nagatsuka, befriends Shoya after he saves him from a bully.
A Whisker Away
Miyo follows the mask seller to the hidden Island of Cats, hoping to persuade him to turn her back into a human. Meanwhile, Kinako realizes how much Miyo’s stepmother adored her cat and has a change of heart. She reveals the mask’s secret to Hinode and transports him to the island to save Miyo before her transformation becomes permanent. Kinako gives Hinode a cat mask, which transforms him into a half-cat except for his hands. Kinako and Hinode are captured by the mask seller but saved by Miyo and another cat who used to be a human. The mask seller kidnaps Miyo just as Kinako is about to give Miyo her face back.
